Re: Audacity Won't Record on my iMac
The Mac version appears to be broken for recording at the moment. I've tried version 2.3.3 on two Macs running Mac OS 10.15.4, one with a USB mic and another with the built-in laptop mic. Other apps see and record the microphone signals, but Audacity doesn't. The mics are shown and selectable in Aud...

Re: Are there no markers in this application?
Thanks for the info. I've never seen another audio app without markers; they're not specific to video. Snapping the cursor to "labels" is fine, but it's fussy for selecting the intervening region... especially if the other marker is off-screen. And especially considering the aforementioned failure t...

Re: Are there no markers in this application?
A label is something you'd put on a marker. As far as the so-called labels in Audacity go, they do not provide two essential functions expected of markers: They aren't attached to a track of audio, so markers don't adjust when you make edits to that audio. Is there some way to link them to an audio ...

Re: Are there no markers in this application?
I consider markers a critical feature; I doubt that I use anything more frequently when editing audio.
I won't use Audacity as long as it lacks this fundamental tool.

Thanks for the replies.
Now I know why I deleted Audacity years ago. Maybe I'll see you all again in a few more... when I post the same question.

Are there no markers in this application?
Hi all.
I'm mystified by the lack of markers... I pressed M while playing back in a file, and nothing happened. So I searched the help and FAQ for "marker," to no avail.
Anybody else find this strange? This is 2.3.1 on the Mac.
Thanks for any insight.

Re: How about removing the stereo pops from mono records?
Before I even look at that... I realized at some point that the inversion wouldn't work, because the initial L-R step already involved inverting one of the channels. So there was no way to do another subtraction from the original signal using the result of that first subtraction. Thanks for the link.

How about removing the stereo pops from mono records?
Hi all. It seems to me that it should be possible to remove a significant amount of noise from mono records by digitizing them in stereo and removing everything that's not common to both channels. A lot (most?) of the noise is in stereo, being damage to one groove wall or the other but often not bot...
