Re: Distortion when recording from USB turntable
I had to play with it, but it seems like the best balance is at 6%. Thanks for your help.

Re: Distortion when recording from USB turntable
Stevethefiddler, I think that you misunderstood. What I meant was that if I play the record straight to the speakers without going through Audacity it plays clean without distortion. It still is distorted if I try to record it with Audacity. I have tried everything and it still doesn't work. But, th...

Stevethefiddle, I tried this and it still does not work. Oddly enough, if I choose Listen To This Device in the USB Audio Codec input properties, the record plays directly and the sound is fine.

Re: Distortion when recording from USB turntable
One would expect that a sound card installed as part of the original system would have the correct drivers and be fully functional. Unfortunately this is frequently not so. When Windows 7 was released, many manufacturers were struggling to produce working drivers for their hardware and in many case...

Re: Distortion when recording from USB turntable
As mentioned in the sticky thread that Waxcylinder pointed to, have you checked that your sound-card drivers are 64-bit? If in doubt, you should download the latest drivers. PO'L Irish, the sound card came with the system. Wouldn't it be a 64-bit sound card? Also, every other music file plays fine.

Waxcylinder, I tried that and no change.
