Selecting an audio interface to create 4 Audacity (or not)
I am guessing there is already a good thread or wiki page to address my question, but my searching the forums here (including the excellent "check here before posting") and googling in general weren't much help. My goal is to record into Audacity with a friend in a way that we could generate 4 track...

can't copy project or export wav files
I'm using 1.3.4 on Windows XP. I have an audacity project with 3 mono tracks of about 4 minutes duration - guitar, mandolin, and voice. It sounds great in Audacity. I would like to get this project (any way I can) off this PC and onto another (the PC isn't mine). The simplest approach, I thought, wa...

Dude, where's my strums? (Tascam US-122/Win98SE)
I'm having a problem with lots of background hum/buzz and very faint registering of the music I'm actually playing. I have a hunch this is related to my very old computer, but before I throw down some cash (or throw in the towel), I'd like to go fishing for some help. This is a long post, but hopefu...

Re: Recording vocals with guitar
Have you tried just opening your audacity project that has the guitar part, clicking the red record button, and singing into the mic? This is how I record multiple parts - by clicking the record button, it plays the existing parts and let's you record a new one.

Re: adding music intro
Not sure if this is right, but I would try opening your intro (in audacity), selecting the part(s), copy, and paste into your other audacity project.

Re: Mixing Tutorial - General Methods
LilSpider, That's a VST plugin, you need to install the VST plugin enabler available here: http://audacityteam.org/download/plugins It won't look the same (due to licensing restrictions, Audacity can't use the VST graphical display code), but hopefully it will function. VST support is buggy at best...

Re: VST enabler worth the risk?
The VST enabler won't cause permanent issues unless it crashes before you get a chance to save a project or something like that. Thanks. I downloaded the VST enabler and everything's good. One thing I didn't realize was that I would lose those "presets" that the ANWIDA product advertises. I was loo...

Re: click removal
...once you identify the click (i.e. the vertical red line), how do you get rid of it? Get a copy of Audacity v.1.3.4 and install it (in a different directory to v.1.2.6) Then use the "Repair tool" in the "Effects" menu. http://audacityteam.org/download/features-1.3-j.php Great - I will give this a...
