Re: Recording problems

What and how are you recording? Thru a microphone? Direct line inputs?

If you mute the first track while playing everthing back... are you still hearing it in the second track?

Re: M-Audio Delta 1010LT and Audacity

Make sure you don't use the latest driver... that has problems with Audacity. Use driver 5.10.00.5057 (thanks to alatham for this advice) The main delta driver page, shows gain for its internal mixer function. If you go the the "Hardware Settings" tab, and look at the area named Variable Signal Sett...

Re: Urgent Mixdown Problem -- Project Due Today

On each stereo track, there's a black down arrow. Under that select "Split Stereo Track" That should give you 4 mono tracks. Set all pans to dead center, then select all, and reduce the gain around 3db (one way is to use the amplify command, and set peaks at -6db) This should let you mix out to a mo...

Moving the gain slider all the way down works too.

Thanks.

Default Directory ?

ARGH!!! Earlier this week, I had "Exported as MP3" various songs from the band practices I had been recording, directly to my networked terabyte RAID server. Apparantly, Audacity chooses as its "default" save directory, the last directory you saved or exported to. Last night, I got together with a d...

Re: Do WAV to CDA conversions commonly go bad?

I have two car stereos, that over time as they aged, started to "hate" my burned audio CDs. They play most purchased audio CDs fine but ones I burn, play with a "crackley" distorted sound - if at all. The problem gets worse as you go deeper into the CD. Many couldn't play at all past track 4 or 5. O...

Re: Problem with line-in recording

Window's Sound Recorder can record more than a minute. If you open an existing wav file of XX mins... then select and delete the whole thing, it can then record for XX mins. Alternatively, you can take a 60 sec wav, paste it onto the end of a 60 sec wav to get 2 mins... select that and paste to get ...

Re: Splitting Projects

There are only around 300 simpleblockfiles defined ( .au files) in the third project's .aup file. That mens that there are well over 2000 uneeded .au files orphaned if I understand things correctly.

Ugh!

Re: Question on how Audacity handles its audio files.

(duplicate of post in "new features" forum, but more germane to this thread) - - - - OK... so this is strange. I had a partial band session tonight - with a couple of players missing - trying out a new female vocalist. My setting is for 8 inputs, so 8 tracks were recorded... only 5 of which were use...

Quick Mix includes muted tracks

I recorded my band this evening.

My new vocalist wanted a copy of certain songs without vocals so she could use them to practice with.

I muted the vocal track and did a quick mix. The mix still contained the vocal track.

Is this a bug?
