Re: Musings and questions on cross channel bleed removal

If you have the vocal mics facing a wall (with the vocalists facing the drum kit), then I would recommend hanging some heavy fabric behind the vocal mics, they sound like they'll pick up a lot of the reflection off the wall. But I really don't know much about how the room is setup and I can't prete...

Re: sound level across multiple files

Also -- Don't normalize, until all chapters are ready to go, and then normalize all tracks at once equally. You can either use different software that can normalize multiple files to the one with the least headroom (dbPowerAmp for one) or in Audacity import all tracks and equalize at once. This with...

Re: line-in

Go into your hardware "Device Manager" (Right-click on "My Computer" and choose Properties)... and looking at "Sound, video, and game controllers" choose your sound card, right-click and "Uninstall". Re: Musings and questions on cross channel bleed removal

You'll also be shifting tracks around too much and throwing off the timing of the music. Hmm... I'm ...

Re: Wave to WMA

1. Does “lossless” actually mean that the compressing algorithm has an inverse, that the process is reversible and that converters exist, enabling me to get back an exact copy of the original .wav file from the .wma file? Yes 2. If not: are there other Windows accepted lossless formats for which th...

Musings and questions on cross channel bleed removal

While being into music (both playing and listening) and audio (both high-end consumer and pro), for quite some time... I'm fairly new to mastering/processing/mixing. At this time, I'm in the middle of starting up a band. We're still finding/replacing personel, and developing a playlist etc. I've bee...

What's your budget?

There's also a soundcard thread elsewhere on this forum.

So that's what you call sitting on the 405 freeway for hours... swimming.

I used to live in Costa Mesa/Laguna Hills for 7 years. :-)
