Re: "Error: reference to invalid number at line N" on 1.3.12

Thanks for the input. I downloaded and applied the Security Update. The problem didn't get away, however. I tried out retyping the filename suggested by Storer. It was successful. This suggests that import of filenames does not work fine under Mac OS X, perhaps due to some kind of character encoding...

Re: "Error: reference to invalid number at line N" on 1.3.12

Thanks for your suggestion, but no, it didn't solve the problem.

Seems like the error is always "Error: reference to invalide number at line 6 (or 8)". I'm on Mac OS X 10.6.x and it's pretty sure that this is the reason that I'm having this trouble and you don't.

Best,

Re: "Error: reference to invalid number at line N" on 1.3.12

Steven,

Thanks for the input. I really appreciate it.

Yeah, I figured out what went wrong. If the filename contains "-", it causes the error - a little bit surprising specification. Anyway, the problem was fixed and now I feel happy with Audacity ;-)

Thanks again.

Best regards,

"Error: reference to invalid number at line N" on 1.3.12

Hello, I just started to use Audacity recently and found it fabulous and really want to continue to use it. I'm having, however, mysterious errors with some of the .aup files I created. One or two of my files give the following error and can't be opened: Error opening project Error: reference to inv...
