Hotrod;
When I click to stop recording, All the choices at top are no longer grayed out. All I do is click Analyze/silence finder. Audacity does the rest. Occasionally, two or three songs(files) are still together. I can live with that.

Creating cell phone ringtones
As a newbie to Audacity, I'd like to create few ringtones. My wife thinks it is creazy to spend 3 bucks for a 30 second ringtone when you can purchase an mp3 for 89-99 cents :? So, I want to use some of her favorite cd's and surprise her. Has anybody done this? Her cell phone has a usb port to conne...

Re: using a silence finder to split a long recording
I figured it out. Wait until you stop recording. Then, click Analyze, select Silence Finder.
I was able to break the recording into individual tracks, and export multiple track into my burn folder.
I hope this helps newbies like myself
Cheers.

using a silence finder to split a long recording
After recording close to 80 minute music from internet radios, I export the file and burn it in order to listen to in my car. It sounds great with one minor problem. I cannot select tracks. The player shows just one track. I read the help files and copied silencemarker.ny in plug-ins folder in audac...

Recording from Internet Radio
Hi; I am new to Audacity, and love it. I record from Internet radios about 78-79 minutes, then export the file as Wav file. Then, I use Itunes to burn a cd with this file. The problem is it is one big file. :shock: When I play the cd, I cannot use forward button. The CD player display shows track nu...
