I have noticed a feature for adjusting the speed of a recording from presumably any source, could one therefore record from a 78rpm vinyl, either with a 33.3 or 45 rpm speeds & then increase the speed with the speed meter...........many thanks

Re: export wav files
The 48000hz Project Rate was the problem & all was well when changed to 44100hz, however, the Project rate changes back to 48000 each time I open Audacity, have looked around the program to see if one can't embed the PR at 44100, can't see an option - is there one somewhere perhaps? many thanks for ...

I have been using vs 1.3.12-beta in Win7 for a while now & have discovered that resulting exported wav files cannot be read by either of my to burning software programs both of which I've been using to good effect for a long time, but the two media players I have will play them! Re: Device Input - no mic option
thats the problem, neither work on my new commputer, as per my original post, on the old one using vs 1.2.6/XP at least I got the 'mic' input option that worked well, now on the new vs 1.3.12 all I get is a 'Master' option which does nothing(as per my original post) thanks

Re: Device Input - no mic option
Thanks will try update drivers etc, I find the mic input very useful, as audio cassettes & LPs output are too harsh/loud very often for Audacity to cope with using the line-input option, hence the clipping, recording through the mic option makes the recording possible & the end result very good.

Device Input - no mic option
I have been using Audacity for a number of years! recently I bought a new computer & installed Windows 7 Pro(32bit) & then installed your latest version 1.3.12 Previously with WinXP your vs 1.2.6, was able to record audio from LP/Audio cassette from the microphone Input recording option(one of the I...
