Re: Playback audio swaps left and right after recording in s
UPDATE: I purchased a USB sound card, and it records perfectly. No swapping of channels, perfect. The line-inputs on the sound board in my IBM laptop must have gone bad. Somewhere in the circuit after the line input section, past the A-D convertors, but before the bitstream I/O, probably. The USB so...

Re: Playback audio swaps left and right after recording in s
You also haven't mentioned if you tried Windows Sound Recorder. It may not sound like much, but it's an incredibly useful diagnostic tool. It really does sound to me like piss-poor driver software. What happens if you record in Mono mode for testing purposes? Yeah I did try Windows Sound Recorder a...

Re: Playback audio swaps left and right after recording in s
any "effects" enabled for your sound card, particularly any "surround sound" effects, or "Environmental" effects. Other than that, have you checked to see of there are any updated drivers available for your sound card? No, there aren't any effects that I can see in the mixer or driver properties. I...

Re: Playback audio swaps left and right after recording in s
Update: I have found that in 8khz and 11khz sample rates it records fine. No swapping channels. But set it to record 22khz, 44.1khz, 48khz,88.1khz, 96khz, and it will exhibit the channel swapping behavior. Not sure what a codec is but maybe I am missing a codec or something?? Want to destroy compute...

Re: Playback audio swaps left and right after recording in s
Yes, I tried two different leads. They both have the same problem. I thought it may be a driver issue, or that the settings for buffers or something was not set right. Still searching for the cause. Thanks.

Re: Playback audio swaps left and right after recording in s
I think you are correct. Got the Holy Water, and at least 3 Bibles. Priest is on the way.You have a possessed machine.
Is there a good priest in your neighborhood? Good stock of holy water? Bible or two?
Koz
Thanks Koz.

Re: Playback audio swaps left and right after recording in s
I am using the line-in, not the mic input. I am recording a Stereo line input. As the wave unscrolls as i am recording, you can see that the left and right sides swap out occaisionally, and you can hear it on playback. I tried it also by unplugging one side of the stereo input, and recording only on...

Re: Playback audio swaps left and right after recording in s
Thanks for the tip, but if the plug were not making constant contact, then wouldn't there be silent gaps? In my case the waveforms shows that the sound is being swapped left for right at random times for short periods. There's no silent gaps. :| Anyways, I cleaned the plug. I am using line-in on my ...

Playback audio swaps left and right after recording in stere
Hope this may be a common problem. After recording in stereo, I play back, and I notice the audio will pop back and forth beween left and right every now and then. It is very annoying. What is causing this? Can't get a good recording. :?: I see that the section of waveform is transposed to the other...
