Re: 3.5mm mic's into mixer output to pc?
Ok, so seperate circuits in a box... Can I go to the Radio Shack and buy a "2K2, 10uF, and a 10K" and would they also have the various wires that connect it all? Are they gonna know what I'm talking about? Is there a better way to go about buying this stuff, rather than the Shack? A set of 10 of eac...

Re: 3.5mm mic's into mixer output to pc?
I'm not sure what you mean... My thought was that the 6 signals would go into the mixer then to the computer for now but when I can afford it go to preamp then mixer then computer... Am I thinking wrong yet again? As far as the big box is concerned would there be less potential interference if there...

Re: 3.5mm mic's into mixer output to pc?
Yeah, I have a drill. I could also likely make a box if need be, I've got some bending equipment at work that I could probably use. Is it possible to have all 6 battery inserters in the same box or is that a bad idea?

Re: 3.5mm mic's into mixer output to pc?
Do you have an estimated cost for a set of battery inserters built by me for 6 channels? My 150 per hour labor rate not included...
Thanks again for the help, I haven't mentioned it in a couple posts.

Re: 3.5mm mic's into mixer output to pc?
No, my point was to use the mixer with different mics to see if anything worked better and to potentially use it to allow for more mics throughout, but you are right as far as DJs screaming over it. Also I was attempting to use the 626 to give me a bit more control over things, but alas, nope.

Re: 3.5mm mic's into mixer output to pc?
I have a Radio Shack mic like: http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=4085499 It works fine through the mixer. I guess it's a dynamic mic with a 1/4" jack so that answers my dumb question about all dynamic mics being xlr. What I have works ok, it's just a very small microphone that pi...

Re: 3.5mm mic's into mixer output to pc?
So is a non-powered dynamic mic, like what steve linked to, only going to use an xlr connection (or is that something that just looks like xlr?)? The other part of that would be are any of these pre-amp mixers going to have non-XLR connections, or is that what you are saying? Is "XLR" the right term...

Re: 3.5mm mic's into mixer output to pc?
So your advice from where we are right now is to send everything I have back, get a preamped mixer (like the one you've posted) and try the headset steve posted? I think I'm understanding that I want to amplify to vocals then monkey with the levels because if I just monkey with levels then I will ge...

Re: 3.5mm mic's into mixer output to pc?
steve, I may have to look into those, I've already got the mixer and adapters like it's going out style. As far as the noise I don't think it's too bad with a dynamic mic, but I'll certainly try another test. I've never bought anything from outside the country, so we'll see how that goes... Thanks f...

Re: 3.5mm mic's into mixer output to pc?
Ok, since I'm completely ignorant in all this junk, the circuits look like something I coud do but it seems like a potentially more effecient use of my time and money to just buy a mixer with a preamp built in, yes? Am I looking for phantom power to supply power to the headsets or is there something...
