Resurrecting an old thread - I had a similar problem with the ION turntable and Audacity a few years ago - I also tried EZ Audio Converter (V1) and at first the distortion was solved, but after a few days it started again (plus the EZ software was horrid - mixing up names and causing far to much man...

Another poster noted the same thing I did in another thread. The problem is with Audacity, not the hardware. EZ Audio Converter works fine - I've done several full album sides with no distortion showing up, while with Audacity it's about 2-3 songs max, then buzzsaw-city...and restarting the program ...

Well, I hate to rain on the ION-bashing parade, but I recently got a USBTT 05 - and it works great. Sometimes. If I use Audacity 1.2.x under Leopard by about the third song the distortion starts. I thought it was dust or something, but no. I quite Audacity, restarted - immediate distortion. I reboot...
