On-going recording problem
I've had many excellent voice recording sessions with Audacity 1.3.12 in my old Compac (XP) but I recently replaced it with a Dell Inspiron 560. Now I can't get a decent signal on Audacity when I record; i.e., my mic signal (via an M-Audio) doesn't show up on the waveform unless I scream into the mi...

Re: Poor mic signal with new computer
Koz: I've checked out everything on your link and still get nothing usable when I try to record. This exact setup I mentioned was working perfectly with my old computer (Compac XP). I just wish there was a list of things for me to do with the new computer to get Audacity working like it was. One thi...

Poor mic signal with new computer
Audacity worked fine with my old Compac (XP), which I've replaced with a Dell Inspiron 560. Now I get very poor signal strength with Audacity. Where did I goof?

One thing is still uncertain though.... to allow ALL voice/music sound to be heard from both speakers (rather than stereo) I discovered the Track Panel/Split Stereo To Mono function....

Re: Multi Track Editing
Thanks for straightening out the terminology for me. Your #2 option works well. Now I'm trying to import some music that I bought (zipped) for the 8 projects, but nothing works. Can you help with that too?

Re: Multi Track Editing
I haven't suceeded yet in getting my clips to show up one after the other on the monitor; also how do I export .aup clips (files?) as WAVs, then import them as WAVs? Here's what I'm trying to do: I want to assemble my eight .aup clips together, one below the other, etc, so that I can FADE OUT the en...

Re: Multi Track Editing
Thanks Koz & Steve. What I've done is copy/paste each track I want, then labeled and saved each one. But now I find that when I retrieve a track so I can record on it, it doesn't record on the selected track; it starts a new track below. Ideas?

Re: Multi Track Editing
Copy & Paste is the only way that works. Thanks.
