Fair enough. I'll give it a shot next weekend. Just got the Ion. Real disappointment as I have about 500 albums to convert and I'm not a computer genius, just an old engineer trying to reason and bailing wire my way through this thing.

Have any idea why the static only kicks in on longer tracks? Most tunes do fine. Would seem to suggest Ion functioning fine. Does it start about five minutes into a track? If so, NR won't do anything to help. Have done spectrum analysis on roughly same vocal refrain before and after noise starts. Can't include Excel spreadsheet because forum wont accept file extensions. Noise starts at about 2kHz (~2dB) and increases thru...

Is the problem only on longer tracks? I've been getting noise about 5 to 6 minutes into longer tracks. It's a fuzzy static sound. Can't figure out how to get rid of it. Dies at the end, so can't use noise removal. Could it be too much data? Thoughts anyone? BTW, since I have Leopard OS on a new Mac,...
