Re: Sound Quality differs w/ export as MP3 vs Wav
Thank you for this information. I will experiment with the bitmap settings. However, I think it might be a memory/hardware issue...I tried combining some of my voice tracks and the resulting mp3 was much clearer than the original, which really sounded quite distorted. Thanks again very much for your...

Re: How do you adjust sound levels of different recordings
Oh that's a great idea...thanks! I posted a different but related question yesterday that maybe I could ask you too: Is there a way to "undo" an effect like Fade in/Out? Just do the normalize effect on everything?

Remove the "Fade In" or "Fade Out" effect
Hi,
Does anyone know a way to remove the fade in or out effect once the file is saved and it's too late to "undo" ?
I tried the "Normalize" effect but that made it too loud...For now I'll just re-import that piece and start again.
Thanks,
Audj

Re: How do you adjust sound levels of different recordings
OK...I kind of figured it out...use the envelope tool, right? Can anyone give basic recommendations for how to set the proper levels whilst recording? I.e what are the ideal levels for voice? I'm using an M-Audio Microtrack 24/96, which just has one level setting.
Thank you!!!
Thank you!!!

How do you adjust sound levels of different recordings
Hello! I am new to sound editing and audacity and have a basic question: I am creating a project using many different voices, all recorded at different places and with different sound levels (some quiet, some loud, etc). How can I make the volume consistent from piece to piece of audio? Thanks for a...
