Thanks Steve. I appreciate the followup. I'll investigate further by changing the mandatory profile and see if it sticks. Which, if it does, means that it's stored in the registry (or a preference file somewhere - which I doubt) so I should be able to narrow it down to a particular key. Yay... more ...

Bugger and thanks (for moving - didn't realise)!
Any suggestions where to look in the OS for the path then. This may save me time trying to 'fix' other apps also.
Or possibly any pointers on where to start looking in the code to change it there?

Hi, I'm trying to change the default save location in Audacity 1.3.11 (Windows 7 32bit Enterprise on domain with mandatory profiles). I've searched these forums and Google but can't seem to find the right info - sorry if I missed something. By default, clicking save points to "%programfiles%Audacity...
