The Skips were caused by the USB TT cheap, half-sized platter. When I put my new vinyl on my old marantz TT there were no skips. Thanks for everybody's help on this. For recording, I'm going to try the TT through pre amp through sound card. Prosser99

How important is a good TT? I have an old dusty Marantz. Seems to work fine. Only problem is the cartridge which I plan to upgrade.
