Re: Cant open my recording!!!
Projects only open when the .AUP file and the _DATA folder are in the same place like on your desktop or some other folder. If they're separated for some reason, different folders, the show complains and will not open. It is a little worrisome that the AUP project manager file wouldn't open without...

Re: RECORDING LEVELS ON STEREO IS NOT RIGHT
There was no recording at all when i used the RCA's and the instructions clearly state that the RCA's are for a output to your stereo and not for recording. I tried doing what was posted previously about duplicating mono tracks etc. But no matter what happens it will always come out of both speakers...

Re: RECORDING LEVELS ON STEREO IS NOT RIGHT
@Whomper, The M-Audio has a Mono/Stereo switch, and if this is set to Stereo, the mic input should be duplicated on both output channels. @Rockguitarist88, Have you tried using the RCA outputs on the M-Audio, and connecting into the Line-In on the PC, instead of the USB connection? That should tell...

Re: RECORDING LEVELS ON STEREO IS NOT RIGHT
This post, http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=27635&p=78822&hilit=+vista#p78822 from another thread, may throw some light on the situation. It appears that Vista sets the input from USB devices to mono by default, and you may have to go into the Control Panel to change it to stereo....

<<<so i think ok, ill record in mono, duplicate it and select one to go on left channel and one on right channel, this doesnt work either.>>> Menus on the left > Split Stereo Track > Select the Left music > Copy > Select Right Track > Home the cursor > Paste > Make Stereo Track. That didn't work? K...

Re: RECORDING LEVELS ON STEREO IS NOT RIGHT
Ive NEVER had a problem with recording with my mic til a few months ago. If you're recording from a single mic, that's a mono source, and the mic jack on your computer is a mono input. If you set Audacity to record in mono, then when you play back, the music will play back equally through both spea...

Re: RECORDING LEVELS ON STEREO IS NOT RIGHT
why mono if i want stereo recording?Irish wrote:In Edit > Preferences > Devices > Recording, you should have Channels set to 1(Mono).
If that doesn't solve the problem, we will need a bit more info on your system:
Type of computer, mixer model number, how is it connected to the computer?
