Re: SSM2019 monolithic pre-amp chip

interesting other mfgrs say that the theoretical (at room temperature) usable bits are 20. Current chips doing 24 bit recording gives 4 bits of space for computations to avoid damaging the signal. so what is the true edge of this new chip over current ones? do we gain anything that we can really tak...

Re: Too Many Of The Options Are Not Usable

I am brand new to sound editing. I chose Audacity since it is free and highly recommended. I don't care about recording, all I want to do is add effects to the music files I play. Well, I have been going NUTS trying to get Audacity to work!! I have downloaded three different versions, including the...

Re: Newbie with Noise Removal problems with 78s

<<<But as one would imagine there is a LOT of static noise, clicks and pops in the recording.>>> But there doesn't have to be. 78s take a different size needle from 45 and 33-1/3. If you try to use a 45 needle anyway, the needle will sit at the bottom of the super-wide groove a pick up a huge amoun...

Re: lining up track labels

You can Export Multiple with single point labels. If all the labels are single points, the exported sections will start at one label and end at the next. Things may get weird if you use a mixture of single point labels and region labels. thanks at least for now all i need are separate tracks to bur...

warm was banned in another forum

Using the effects that can be downloaded with Audacity, what are some ways to get an otherwise sterile-sounding digital piano to sound warmer? ( I've already used some compression, which helps) warm is one of those vague words that nobody agrees on one forum has completely banned "warm" you put it ...

Re: EDITING QUESTION/WAVEFORM

I am usng an Olympus LS-10 Linear PCM Recorder. I did get a file onto the pc using a 1/8" cable from the headphone jack of the recorder to the line in (blue port) of the pc. It was recorded in MP3 on my recorder. Audacity would not accept an earlier file that I recorded in WAV. When I open the file...
