I am getting static on the left channel when I start the record button even though I am not sending a signaL to be recorded or have nothing plugged in such as a phono, microphone, or tape. How do I troubleshoot this problem? what problem ? that is normal -- or could be can you record a real signal ...

In my original description of the process I used, I failed to mention that I am using a 78rpm designed needle in the cartridge. ... But end effect is always that hollow, tinny result. Does any else have this problem on working with trying to get vinyl records to MP3s? Thanks. are you doing anything...

I don't do that. I select an area slightly larger than the edit work and magnify Control-E. Then I select and delete most, but not all of the offending clip . Select around the new, shorter work and zoom in again, select and delete more. By the third time, I'm in far enough to edit down to the indi...

well.... you can zoom way in - if you can keep track of where you want to be (it seems to wander around the screen when I zoom) supposed you can nudge the line with cursors but that does not seem to work for me (antoher easter egg gotcha that i didnt see in the docs??) we certainly could use an easi...
