going by memory he , the best that i can recall, implied strongly that you could andor he did remove the vocals, and then got the music alone. i cannot say that he did, and if he had claimed that i could not confirm that he actually did it. there are commercial programs that claim to do this realtek...

you cant beat first hand experience
looked at pv art and beheringer again
on paper behringer looks somewhat better
pv looks very close second on paper
and art looks terrible
so are all the specs worthless or do some just lie better than others

audacity can facilitate that ONLY IF your PC allows it
check your sound card for stereomix or similar name
like whatyousee is whatyouhear ....
if its win7 and a laptop you dont got that feature no more

how important to you is being sure you have the 4 hour session recorded? it *might* work "good enough" *sometimes* to use NAS or flash or .... but the slower the disk repsonse the bigger the risk some folks have problems just cause the HD is not defragged and the delays in disk access cause unaccept...
