try the powerpoint help menus, andor the windose help function.
i have seen how to do it, but do not recall. that is a ppt issue not audacity.

i had a similar problem. try defragging the drive first if you do a long recording. may or may not work for you. even without a stated limit, i would not try to record so much at once if there is any way to do it in segments.

timing capability needed
it would be useful to have a timer feature. eg set it to stop after say 35 minutes. then we could start copying a cassette and go do something else without having to worry that our disk got filled up if we forget to come back soon enough.

I've hooked my JBSystems recordplayer to my JBSystems USB audio converter, turned the mic up to 100%, turned my volume up to the maximum, but still the sound does not come near 0dB in Audacity... sounds like your playback equipment. we need more info. version of audacity, what pc, what opsys, what settings, what are you doing with it, what are the connections, etc.

a qualified yes. BUT... it will not sound like you think it should. at least not without a lot of extra work. you can add them up and keep them in four tracks. okay that helps. i am not an expert on this but others here should be able to help more. i suspect that the train announcement would have limited bandwidth , probably has some distortion, the car/plane itself may provide a tiny bit of reverb and/or some filtering of the higher freqs. and often there...
