try the powerpoint help menus, andor the windose help function.
i have seen how to do it, but do not recall. that is a ppt issue not audacity.

i had a similar problem. try defragging the drive first if you do a long recording. may or may not work for you. even without a stated limit, i would not try to record so much at once if there is any way to do it in segments.

i thought i tried things like that but maybe not double click

it would be useful to have a timer feature. eg set it to stop after say 35 minutes. then we could start copying a cassette and go do something else without having to worry that our disk got filled up if we forget to come back soon enough.

sounds like your playback equipment. we need more info. version of audacity, what pc, what opsys, what settings, what are you doing with it, what are the connections, etc.

a qualified yes. BUT... it will not sound like you think it should. at least not without a lot of extra work. you can add them up and keep them in four tracks.
