Re: any plug-in for distortion by too-high gain
I recorded a lovely chorus+piano concert this weekend on my Oly DM-520. ... But after listening to first half concert I determined some loud passages were distorted (apparently over-high gain on the signal). Switched to auto, and seemed better (but one can hear the AGC, alas)......Is there any way ...

Re: Increase input volume for system sound
Assume that I play a soundfile and am recording it at the same time. I would like to record it and have pretty much the same waveform as the original soundfile. do it in two steps record a good signal - typically leave -18dB to -24dB headroom when you are done then amplify to bring the recording up...

Re: files&folder
The AUP project manager file (it's not a sound file) and the _DATA folder need to be in the same place. If you have one in one folder and the other somewhere else, the show is never going to open. Koz well ... actually if you go into the aup folder and edit the location of the data folder it works ...

Re: Volume mishap
use amplify on the entire recording before you export the file.
if still not loud enough you may need to compress it. but compressing a utube file may not sound very good.

Re: LP recording
look at the waveform. db view is by far the easiest to use. find the start of each song. the waveform from an LP should have a couple of seconds of low level between songs which makes it easier to find. use the magnify on the left of the track to help. looking at about 5 minute segments may help too...

Re: can I do a silent recording
i can believe that everything andor anythign does not work on vista. i exercised my downgrade rights on my new pc to go back to xp. now that said, do you have the latest realtek drivers? if the author does not respond, i will infer that it is just another bogus claim that so many software vendors ma...

Re: Determining decibel level of sound clip
i inferred he had sine tones at different freqs and different volumes. BUT for any given file, my solution *does* work to set his relative levels point by point in time for a given file. Now if his files vary that is his problem to deal with. What he really needs an SPL meter with A&C weighting ...

Re: can I do a silent recording
i have xp. realtek has lots of versions. poke around the control panel and find everything and try it. most of them have a lot of similar items that are needed. dont know why they do the other things. i would be surprised if you cant find some easter egg like places that will give you something more...

Re: Determining decibel level of sound clip
so start with any file and then amplify it to 0db now you know that you have 0dBFS file to start with now that you have one that is the max that you can do without clipping you can start lowering it ("amplify" it down) to get other relative output levels how loud it actually plays will dep...

Re: can I do a silent recording
yes they are the same mine has 5 tabs - maybe your layout is different so look at all of it you should only need the mixer tab (but check the otehrs to turn off unwanted "features" taht can cause problems -- and check the sound effects tab to flatten the eq - mine defaulted to something we...
