can't think of any program that lets me do undo after a save and reopen after closing the ap. so no surprise that audacity does it that way too. i think all of my main aps will let me undo as long as the file is still open no matter how many saves. if not that is a major bug in photoshop et al.

that machine should be fine. usb and win7 can cause odd problems.
have you tried another usb port?

what sort of benefits do paying for a high end daw get you that audacity cant do ?

use the original stems or master tracks
or
rent a studio with a few megabux of special equipment using engineers with lots of experience

when the linear goes to zero why doesnt the db scale to to max negative? mine usually bounces from -24 to -48. once it got as low as -72 but that was a very rare occurence. never hits -96. when the linear goes to zero shouldnt the db scale go to zero (as close as it can considering its db and binary...

it would help to have a lot more information. what is the sample rate set in audacity? set it to 44.1 and then 48 do either of those work for you? what is the rate for your sound card? which sound card? what other settings are selected for your sound card? what pc what opsys etc. they all work diffe...

he may mean the oddball way it displays at times and that if you magnify in different places on the left vertical side you see different things also the db scale does not match the linear display probably for practical programming you only show the top of the linear scale not the middle portion when...

maybe there is a distortion plug in out there somewhere on the web? but if you amplify your recording past the zero level and click allow clipping you will cause distortion. Play with how much over you need to go to get it to sound distorted enough for you. you could also apply some heavy compressio...
