i never put a mike in front of a speaker for 40 years now.
still true that a lot of guitar people like that terrible method.
and if the content is important better a bad recording than no recording.

... I want him to record the sound that I hear trough the speakers. To adjust the volume in audacity I could use the "ph vol"-butten now. This should be the master button!... thq not the best way but put a mike in front of the speakers lots of electric guitar folks like to record that way...

don't think audacity has that plug in but wouldn't a noise gate do what you want. you set the level, and below that nada but silence is the result. usually used for noise blanking but you could use it to remove anything below a set level. dont think any of them have a lead time though. alternative w...

api = application programming interface you need the application not a special interface there are commercial aps that do what you want to do they spent years programming them and millions of dollars but they are a lot more affordable than trying to DIY could you find a freeware/shareware ap that do...
