you are sure that absolutely nothing has changed that you are using?

not even new software that could have changed settings?

you need to turn down the gain in your built in audio card driver
andor in audacity

then delete the new software so it doesnt do this again :mrgreen:

thanks as i said i track mine at 1/2 gram and use a special device to lower it a quarter only weighs 4 grams most jamokes have the counterweight set at several grams instead of tracking at a lighter force. i would be more worried about the people dropping the arm than the weight on the cantilever wh...

(split from here: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=27019 ) agree for permanent use for one playing it will not damage the needle and if the record doesnt play without that then the record is no good and can be tossed anyway diamonds are tough I would worry about the record not ...

maybe reason, reaper, ableton , or the "lite" versions of above

if they dont do what you need
wikipedia lists a big bunch of otehr software options you can check out
many free many cheap some expensive

it was TMJ
the guys jaw was clicking when he moved it certain ways

Yes, it still seems to skip unfortunately. I've watched it play and it doesn't appear that the cartridge it is coming off the record....maybe i'm not looking hard enough? skips with the coin then the record is not suitable you wont see the cartridge skip but the needle will jump to a new groove you...

check out sonar producer, nuendo, pro tools HD, and similar.
one of them should do what you need.

... when the drives are grinding away, say a virus update is happening in the background, I will not have the clicking. .... virus scans and other useless win features like indexing can cause clicking you need to stop ALL unneeded programs defrag the drive no matter what it says you are using a fas...
