Re: Converting a directory full of aup files to wav
aup is a project not a file au is a file type with pieces of the actual audio for the aup to use audacity will handle picking the right au files to convert when you export from the aup project open the project for each file and then export as a wav or whatever put them all in the same directory to m...

Re: Recommondation for a Chorus Live Concert in a Church
... I don't know that I agree with Whomper's workflow. If you decide to not use the automatic 2 second separation between the CD segments, then you can make a Music CD that goes through the whole performance beginning to end, or, on the same CD, you can skip forward or backward to specific segments...

Re: Amplication/Normalization and Clipping
standards suggest recording at -18 to -24
as you note clipping is bad
and you can always amplify later on
with 24 bit or more depth there is no noise floor problem
when you leave that headroom

... ... but my thoughts ran along the lines of "why on earth can't the makers of car audio players fit them with onboard Dynamic Compression, switchable on and off with a button?" WC my thought is -- why do they insist on so much dynamic range in the first place. 30 dB is the practical li...

Re: Setting track number for export multiple
so what do you do for a *second* album? this does not compute! if you can export multiple albums okay you can export multiple sides okay and if you cant export a second album then there are big problems with the logic in the code and you still have the problem with eg nero and the names unless you m...

Re: Amplication/Normalization and Clipping
it would seem so - not sure if there is a bug in his new version or some other problem. but you dont need to amplify anywhere near max if you compress just turn the knob on the playback amp and get the same result as if you had used amplify. the key is to scrunch the music down to 30db range or less...

Re: Setting track number for export multiple
i guess you will have to edit the database
or edit the audacity info
strange you can only export one recording
without having problems with the labels
maybe a different database/player would be simpler

Re: Vuvazela noise frequency removal

Re: Recommondation for a Chorus Live Concert in a Church
... Now my (maybe) silly Question: Should I first cut the tracks and then apply the compressor or should first apply the compressor and then cut it down ? ... been there done that with my H2 first take out the memory card and put the files on the pc then back them up keep a separate backup off the ...
