Re: Will this setup be okay & do i need to buy a soundcard?
<<<usb TTs do not need to be a problem>>> Yes they do. They are almost universally terrible turntables because they are designed to be thrown out, not saved for years and carefully maintained. The elves have had very bad experiences with them and they appear on the forum often with one breakdown or...

Re: recording problem
remove itunes seems like the logical choice ? That would be logical - or at least shut it down fully so that it is not running in the background while you are using Audacity. uninstall audacity and reinstall it I don't think that uninstalling and reinstalling Audacity ever fixes anything. Sometimes...

Re: Is Audacity the best program for my application?
OK, I've checked. The packaging for my H2 specifies SD flash cards up to 2GB and 4GB SDHC flashcards. (there probably were not many flash cards around bigger than 4GB when I bought it). The official Zoom website specifies SD/SDHC cards up to 32 GB. There is also a list of cards that are confirmed t...

Re: Is there a way to fix recording weirdness?
Hi, I'm fairly new to Audacity but I've used it to record things in the past so I'm familiar with its basic functions. Today I was recording an oboe solo with piano accompaniment and some weird things happened with my recording. Certain notes (for example, all high B-flats) or parts of the song rec...

Re: echo when i record from a tape player
First off, i have no idea what I am doing. I recently got windows 7 and downloaded the beta version of audacity. I used the old version with XP to record guitar tracks and what not, but thats the extent of my recording knowledge. All I want to do is record a tape from my tape player onto the damned...

Re: Is Audacity the best program for my application?
That looks like it would be perfect, although it's hard to justify the price tag after already buying an Olympus VN-6200PC. SD card are cheap, too. Amazon is showing a 16GB card for only $35. That would be plenty of space. . sell the olympus ? buy the musicians friend model for $99 i would find it ...

Re: recording problem
I am using audacity 1.2.6 on Windows Xp. Whenever I try to record a cassette or vinyl, all I hear is the first note repeated over and over. This started happening after I reinstalled itunes9. Any ideas on how to get rid of the repeat mode while recording? er.... um..... remove itunes seems like the...

Re: 4 Channel Analog Tape into Audacity
I'm converting my analog recordings to digital. I have a Fostek 4 Channel deck. Do I need a separate interface to get all 4 discrete tracks on Audacity? I'm getting Stereo Tracks now but both tracks are the same so I'm having to "mix" as it records. Sorry if this is a dumb question but I just began...

Re: Will this setup be okay & do i need to buy a soundcard?
Hi to anyone reading, thanks in advance for any replies: I am going to digitize my vinyl collection and want the recordings to be decent quality to me, who I'd classify as the average listener so I'm more enthusiastic than demanding in this respect. My 5ish year old PC has Realtek AC97 Audio, which...
