Re: Why can't I insert silence on all tracks together?
Are you filling up your hard drive? Audacity has to manage all its production effects on the hard drive and it needs room to do it. Go > Computer > Control-Click the system drive > Get INFO. Never get the system drive over 90% full and that's after you finish your show. You clicked somewhere in tra...

Shift-click in the track panels of the other tracks - the selection will be extended into those tracks. -- Bill thanks at least it can be done who would have guessed that easter egg  feature request make it a box to tick in the left side so we c...

Re: Warming up digital tracks
I record music digitally with a Zoom R16 and then edit using Audacity. The music files always sound better if I take the burned CD from Audacity and rerecord it in real time in analog (to something like a minidisc or reel to reel recorder) and then make a CD from that. This analog version of the mu...

Re: lining up track labels
Whomper, The same problem cropped up for me awhile back, so I created a small plug-in to extend point labels into interval labels. ... Let me know if you have problems with it. Dave thanks maybe i should ask this first -- is it necessary to do that at all ???? i thought it was necessary so the time...

Re: Attenuating the sound level
<<<I was wondering if there is a way to make the sound level the same throughout the entire file? Thanks.>>> He's right. Preparing your individual voice and sound tracks ahead of time is a big deal. It always sounds funny when you produce a whole show with bouncing levels and volumes and try to fix...

Re: Attenuating the sound level
I have a wav file (Voice only) where I pieced together several audio clips from other files. Some of the clips are louder than others, and I was wondering if there is a way to make the sound level the same throughout the entire file? Thanks. :P normalise each one separately then paste them together...
