Freeze when playing a newly recorded sound
Hi. I just experienced that Audacity made the computer to partially freezing. That is Audacity doesn't respond at all (window is visible, the close button is still clickable but Audacity doesn't respond to that either) and it was not possible to start other programs. Wasn't possible to close Audacit...

Re: Help with second track
Hi. First of all. If you where to be autistic, then I would say that you would remember about every little detail in the tutorial, but still not getting it  Then to the problem of yours: Do you SEE the wave form at all? You might touch the mute-button for that last track or having enabled s...

Re: Timestamp of exported (from selection) wav file
But, aren't the file creation times unreliable anyway? If you make a five-minute recording from 23:00 to 23:05 and save it, isn't the timestamp 23:05? Or do you already have a way to modify the time created stamp to 23:00? Hi. Yes, you've right on that. On my recorder, the file modification time is...

Re: Timestamp of exported (from selection) wav file
Yes, that is what I tried to suggestGale Andrews wrote:Or if the file creation time is 23:00 April 26th, and you select from one minute into the file, you want the time created to be 23:01 April 26th?
Thanks

Re: Timestamp of exported (from selection) wav file
So you have two different requests, is that so? Two? I thaught I had one. But one wouldn't had any value without the other. You want a checkbox as you describe in Irfanview to preserve the time stamp of an imported file, and you want a feature to add a string to the file name corresponding to the s...

Timestamp of exported (from selection) wav file
Hi. I have a feature request here. I need to elaborate a bit to get to the point. I have a sound recording device that I use to document different sounds. This stores the sounds as regular wav files on a sd card. When I arcive the sound files I need only one (or maybe several) smaller part(s) of the...

Problem with Normalise
Hi. OS: XP sp3 Audacity version 2.0.0 I too suffer from a file where the Normalize operation doesn't work. I have used the envelope tool to reduce a couple of spikes. I guess this must be a bug, since Preview button in Normalize dialog box plays the apparently normalized sound. But pressing the OK b...

Re: Stereo to mono - keep only left channel
http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/Track_Drop-Down_Menu Select "Split Stereo to Mono" from the Track Drop-down Menu, then delete the lower of the two resulting mono tracks. -- Bill Thank you :D Can't imagine I've spend that long time fiddling in the menus, and it's that simple

[Solved] Stereo to mono - keep only left channel
Hi.
I guess the subject covers the problem. I want to make a mono sound from a stereo wave file. But I only want to save the sound from left channel. Any sound from right channel should be removed.
Thanks

Installed Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable Package (x86)
See here for a possible solution: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?p=45745#p45745 Thanks a lot. It turned out that Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable Package (x86) is critical for Audacity to work. There should be added a feature to Audacity that read a errormessage saying that this pac...
