He, WC, you may be on to something there. That step about choosing "USB Audio Codec" didn't make sense to me. Do you know how to do that in Vista?

The only thing I see in the Vista Control Panel is under "Sounds," the "Recording Tab." I click on the recorder that I am using and it claims to be a "2 channel" device. Is there some other place I can toggle recording to "stereo" on the control panel? Thanks.

Thanks, WC, but what I'm saying is the pulldown menu doesn't give me the option of 2 channels. The only thing in there is 1 channel. Any other thoughts? Thanks again.

I was given a preamp as a gift and downloaded Audactiy 1.3 (Beta) to record some LPs to MP3s. Everyting works fine except I can't get it to record both channels. Under preferences the input device (labeled as Microphone USB -3) does not give 2 channels as an option under the channels pulldown menu. ...
