Re: 2.0.4 - Changing sound card settings

The issue was with the SB PCI device. Driver version is 5.12.1.5017 from Creative Technology Ltd. dated 6/11/2002 (yes, I know it's 11 years old, but it's a stable driver and it's a pretty old soundcard running on XP besides). ============================== Default capture device number: 1 Default p...

Re: 2.0.4 - Changing sound card settings

audacity-win-r12543-2.0.5-alpha-08-sep-13-wdmks-disabled solved the issue.

As suspected, WDM-KS doesn't play nice with one of my soundcard's drivers.

Re: 2.0.4 - Changing sound card settings

Can you manually change it back in the device toolbar ? (Ensure that "Host" is set to "MME" or "Direct Sound".) If you then close and restart Audacity, does the change stick? I've already rolled back to 2.0.3. I can't afford to run a buggy version on this PC. Let me be clear: the soundcard that was...

2.0.4 - Changing sound card settings

After installation of 2.0.4 over 2.0.3, Audacity changed the input source for my SoundBlaster PCI soundcard This is on WinXP SP3. The SoundBlaster PCI soundcard is using WDM drivers. Something with 2.0.4 is causing it to make changes to sound card settings. It changed it from Stereo Mix to Micropho...

Re: How to stitch files together?

What you're asking for here is an outstanding Feature Request for "Import Append" Ahh I didn't see that feature request. That would be an outstanding feature, to have each subsequently imported file append itself to the end of the previous track. I can't find the "Import Append" feature request any...

Re: How to stitch files together?

Is there any way to have this accomplished automatically? I'm working with dozens of small files and it takes forever to drag each once individually. For example, I've got 50 5-20 second wav files that I need to line up in chronological order after importing and sorting by filename (each filename co...

Re: Import using "Files of type: FFmpeg-compatible files" bu

Gale,

I just downloaded 1.3.12 RC2 for testing, and noticed the fix for FFmpeg import was removed, much to my dismay. I guess there's not much hope that it's going to make the cut for the final 1.3.12 release? I will continue to use the 1.3.12 Alpha if that is the case. Thanks!

Re: Import using "Files of type: FFmpeg-compatible files" bu

Interesting...I noted that 1.3.11-alpha-Jan 18 2010 was importing multiple files with FFmpeg as I expected it should, however the final release of 1.3.11 beta has reverted back to the behavior I described above. Thankfully I grabbed that nightly alpha release when I did, because it solves my issue f...
