Re: Audio Lines Flat After Working For 30 Minutes
How and where from are you pasting "audio" to audacity? On which OS (Operating System) are you? If you want to "import" audio from other audio files, use the import function from the File menu. You posted in the 1.2.x section of the forum, are you using such version of audacity? ...

Re: Ubuntu Studion 10.10 + Audacity 1.3.12 clipping
Hi bgravato, Thx for your help! The amplify effect works! Just wondering if it will applied to the original file or it just write a header to it? Thx! It imports the audio data into audacity and it applies it to the audio data in audacity, then if you export it, it will write a new file (with new d...

Re: cannot get audacity to record on ubuntu 10.10 x64
Yes, the audio files play fine and I can access PA Volume Control. I unmuted "Internal Analog Stereo", and Audacity "records" fine. Is this all I have to do? The reason I wanted to record them in audacity instead of using a converter is that I thought that converting would lower...

Re: No sound when recording - used to work
Maybe there's some problem with the usb. Do you have any other computer you can try to connect to?
Does the MacBook Air have a mic/line input socket?
If you connect the turntable's RCAs to other equipment such as a traditional amplifier, do you get sound?

Re: No sound when recording - used to work
So it looks like the sound is not getting from turntable to the computer... Could it be something in the turntable? Do you have any knob on the turntable to control the output volume? Or any switch to select the output? If so maybe it is selected to send the sound to the RCA's and not the USB...

Re: No Wave Pattern
We need more information about what you're talking about and what you are trying to achieve... What equipment do you have? How is it connected to the computer? Where do you see the red line? The default in audacity is a blue line.

Re: Ubuntu Studion 10.10 + Audacity 1.3.12 clipping
If you get red lines in the imported file, that means that probably the file already has some clipping. I don't know wavelab so maybe it did some clip fixing automatically? Instead of playing with the master gain volume (that just affects the playback volume) try to amplify negatively (use the Ampli...

Re: Unable to increase bitrate from 128kbps using MP3 Conver
When I need to convert formats I usually do it on my linux computer, but some time ago I needed to do it on the laptop (mac) and I searched for apps for that and I think I downloaded two of them. I think one was Max and the other was either xACT or some other which I can't remember the name. I know ...
