Re: Audacity interface naming question.
Following my comments in this thread earlier today re the hard-to-spot Tutorials - I have created a mockup of a revised Table Of Contents for the front page of the manual - I have added a new section for the Tutorials. Re: Extracting Vocals Using Instrumental (AGAIN!!!)
I read your post's about taking the vocals from the beat by aligning the instrumental and regular mp3 of the song but I can't figure out how to do it in Audacity. I really dont know how to use that program, I was able to bring in both versions Instrumental and full song but I cant figure out how to...

Re: Low playback volume
Hi, Bill or Coz or some other cool cat: A few questions, if you don't mind: 1. Is the griffin imic some sort of preamp as well as usb interface? 2. Is going through the usb port (instead of the port at the back of my iMac) something that just inherently gives a better sound? 3. And finally, do I ne...

Re: Recorded vocal pitch is way too low on playback
I'm having a very similar issue. I'm using the old model EEE PC 701 running Xandros 1.0.4.8. I've successfully recorded one track, but if I attempt to overdub a second track the audio plays back completely distorted. Any solutions for this one? What version of audacity are you using? You're posting...

Re: Recording with external microphone onto a Mac
How to connect a mic to the macbookpro will depend a lot on what kind of mic... Do you already have one? Or planing on buying one? Some computers have a shared mic/line input, but apparently on recent macs they only come with line-in. Therefore you'll most likely need a preamp. Which one to get will...

Re: Ubuntu Studion 10.10 + Audacity 1.3.12 clipping
If it's a WAV and if you have the "Read uncompressed audio files directly from the original (faster)" option selected in preferences I think that if you save a project it will actually overwrite the original final with the new data. No it doesn't. If you import a WAV file and have "R...

Re: Audio Lines Flat After Working For 30 Minutes
Is it? (the disk full?) Try upgrading to 1.3.12. Eventhough it's labelled as beta, in many cases it's more stable than the 1.2.6 version which is no longer being developed. You can get it from here: http://audacityteam.org/download/beta_windows You can have both versions installed, but you cannot ru...
