Re: Replacement for WMP on Linux?
There are plenty of media players for linux. I haven't been a windows user for many years, neither I was a WMP user then, so I can't really tell you which linux app would look more similar to WMP. That said... I'd suggest having a look at Rhythmbox. You also have VLC which is available for all major...

Re: Clicking every minute during recording
Some more info could help... What operating system do you have? Which Audacity version? What equipment are you using and do you have it connected to your computer? Details are helpful. Can you upload a small sample of one of those clicks? Select just a very few seconds of the recording when the clic...

Re: Beyond 2 channel-Using Audacity for Surround Sound?
Been searching here and elsewhere. I think I have 2 separate issues, and for now, I am really stumped now on the 44.iK issue - is there any reason why Audacity loads the others as 6 channels and this one as 2 channels of buzz? I don't think the problem is related to the sample rate... Could it be t...

Re: Beyond 2 channel-Using Audacity for Surround Sound?
I think there was a thread about how to export multiple tracks to surround sound, but I can't find it at the momentemarkay wrote:Thanks but they are more about down-converting and simulating surround - I have the content, I want to be able to edit and export it.

Re: Remove the noises
You can't make an omelette without eggs, nor miracles to happen. If you have a damaged show with lots of noise, you can improve it to some extent using some techniques such as noise removal (check trebor's link), but you can't make a conversation recorded with a mobile phone sound like a recording m...

Re: Record streaming audio from built in sound card in ubunt
Yes, it is. Do you have any "mix" option on your sound card? If not it's also possible using pulseaudio (default on ubuntu) or jack. For pulseaudio method you need to install pulseaudio volume control. And you need to start recording on audacity (and/or put it in pause mode) for portaudio ...
