Re: custom made deadcat for large diaphragm mic

Tried a thinner sock, still muffled and not protecting much from my soft blowing at the mic anyways...

Tried with a piece of soft cloth but it wasn't much better.

Looks like I'll have to go into something fancier :P

Re: Beyond 2 channel-Using Audacity for Surround Sound?

WAV is a lossless codec, he calls those files lossy, why?

Any http link from where I can download them? If not any chance you could upload the 44 and 48 files somewhere? (megashare, megaupload, fileserve, etc)

Re: custom made deadcat for large diaphragm mic

I can't go outside yet (raining again), but I did some tests inside with a sock, but the sound was too muffled. The sock was probably too thick anyways :) I need to find a thinner one :)

Re: File Menu Missing

Ok... I have found out what broke mine. Have you played with /used Unity at all? Once I uninstalled unity from my laptop the file menu bar came back... These are the commands that I used to fix the problem: sudo apt-get remove unity sudo apt-get autoremove NOTE: If you are using the Netbook Remix d...

Yes, in audacity 1.3.12 go to Preferences -> Directories and under Audio cache check the option "Play and/or record using RAM".

Not sure if the option is available in 1.2.5.

Re: Draft: HOWTO convert audio file formats

Thanks, Bruno. Audacity is a bit better than it used to be at batch processing (it does now delete the temp files after dealing with each file when applying the chain to files). It could still halt for user input e.g. when encoding MP3 if the chosen bit rate is inappropriate for the sample rate of ...

Re: System reads audio but Audacity doesn't

Hi, I just picked up an Edirol fa-66 external which is connected via firewire to my macbook pro. Sound in system preferences shows incoming audio from the Edirol and I have it selected in Audacity preferences as the recording device but Audacity recognizes no audio when I try to monitor or record. ...

Re: Can I command Audacity from shell?

Audacity is not really the best tool for simply converting file formats... Audacity also doesn't work from the command line. The only thing you can do with audacity from the command line is to launch it, and that it. For what you want you should have a look at an called pacpl (it's a command line pe...
