First i want to format the time ruler so that i can have 7 to 8 minutes in the first page i am going to record and the default ruler it has like ...

Re: email audio embedding & sound effects formats
In the case of Thunderbird try searching the plugins to see if you can find anything relevant. That's the only way I can think of for doing such thing on thunderbird. As far as I'm aware Mozilla have drawn a line under this and decided that e-mails should not automatically run anything without the ...

Re: Poor audio quality
It's normal for usb devices to not have a software controllable volume. Does your turntable have any knob for volume/gain control? Do you really need to adjust the recording volume? Or you just disconnected before testing? To record from usb you have to select the usb device in audacity's preference...

Re: How to input sound directly from a audio player
Cross-posting duplicates into more than one forum won't get you a faster reply. I merged both topics. Regarding your question, Audacity doesn't have any special option to feed the playback stream into another program. You can redirect inputs/outputs at software level with JACK (http://jackaudio.org/...

Re: What is the best HQ settings for saving LPs
For best quality use lossless formats such as WAV or FLAC. My personal preferrence goes to FLAC since it can reduce the file size to half of a WAV (without damaging the audio). FLAC is a free codec so any "decent" media player (VLC, mplayer, etc) should be able to play it... Unfortunately ...

Re: email audio embedding & sound effects formats
In my opinion any decent email client should not play anything automatically... (I don't even like when it opens pics automatically, that's why I have the option to show attachments unchecked on thunderbird) This is the kind of thing that usually I can only expect to happen on software coming from M...

Re: input volume almost nil Mandriva 2010.2
So how do you have everything connected? Mic to mixer to soundcard line in? Mic to mixer to mic in (line-in shows a level of noise as soon as I plug in input) That's weird... It's expected much noise on the mic in than on the line in. The output of the mixer should be line level signal, which would...

Re: input volume almost nil Mandriva 2010.2
So how do you have everything connected? Mic to mixer to soundcard line in? What audacity version do you have? What recording device have you selected on preferences -> devices? Is the recording volume slider in audacity greyed out? If so you have to use your system's mixer to adjust the volume. In ...
