What version of Audacity are you using? Which linux distro? What is the source? Did you import some WAV files into Audacity? If so do you have selected the option for "do not copy any audio" in Preferences -> Projects? If so did you move or remove any of the original files? What format are...

Ok lets go by steps...

In Prefereces -> Devices which options do you have for host? And which options do you have for Recording device? (do you have a default option for both? try that first)

AFAIK you can't export mp3 in 32 bits. I think you can export WAVs in 32 bits. Audio CDs are 16 bits (stereo and 44.1 kHz). Normal ears won't be able to tell the difference between 16 bits and 32 bits. mp3 is a lossy codec, that means it does damage in sake of compression and you can't change that.....
