Re: Is there a WMA file size limitation for import?
How long is the audio in the file? How much of it do you get imported to audacity?
By "not seeing" do you mean visually seeing in the wavform? I have to ask this... could it be you're zoomed in? Scroll to the right or fit in the windows (Ctrl-F) to see the end of it.

Re: Logitech USB Head set w/ mic -- "error while opening..."
BTW... You're opening Audacity after connecting the headset's usb plug right?
If you connect it while Audacity is already running it might not detect it.

Re: Logitech USB Head set w/ mic -- "error while opening..."
If you're able to import the files into audacity and play them through your normal speakers it doesn't matter where the files were recorded.
I'm running out of ideas here, sorry. I'm not a mac expert, lets wait and see if any of the other mac guys here can come up with some idea...

Re: Automatic recovery help
horus, can you upload the autosave file (the one that had the bad tags you edited)? You can attach files to your posts here. You might need to change the file extension to .txt or so to be able to upload it. No problem with that. Keep the .au files, make a copy of them and keep all the directory str...

Re: Making loops out of phonemes
You could pick a very small sample in the middle of the 'a'. Zoom a lot so you can see something similar to sine waves and find a very small portion (can be as small as 20ms) where the shape of the wave seems to repeat as a pattern. Cut in two points where what's before and after those points seem t...

Re: Making loops out of phonemes
Anything you do that way will probably always sound a bit "unnatural"...
One trick for making loops smoother is to use 2 samples and fade one out while you fade the other in. But in this case I don't think you'll be able to achieve what you're looking for... but good luck anyway

Re: timbre analysis
That and Audacity can't do anything in "real-time".
What's the operating system? What kind of analysis do you need?

Re: saved projects won't open properly in Snow Leopard
You should be using Audacity 1.3.12. Only the audacity.cfg file is relevant for audacity preferences. How much free space do you have on disk? Any chance you could be running out of disk space? Are you saving the project in the same folder as other projects? Did audacity crash any time while working...

Re: Logitech USB Head set w/ mic -- "error while opening..."
However, if it were a headset sample rate limitation, would it not manifest itself when listening to the same WAV file through CuBase 5? It doesn't. Not if the other software resamples the audio before sending it to the headset... And that's assuming the problem is on the sample rate (which is not ...
