Re: audacity effects

I believe Steve also uses an uca202 on ubuntu, so he's probably the best person to reply to that, but I don't remember him complaining about any issues with it... I'm guessing something must be wrong in your setup, but I can't say what... I use an ART Dual Pre USB preamp with Audacity 1.3.12 on Debi...

Re: Tablet PC's

I have no experience with tablets, so I can't really give you any insightful opinion on that... http://www.linux-laptop.net/ used to be a good reference website for running linux on laptops. Not sure what's the current state of the website nor if it has a tablet pc section... http://tuxmobil.org/tab...

Re: audacity effects

May I ask why is 1.2.6 better than 1.3.12?

Maybe the latency issues come from the linux usb driver for your device... Hard to tell without more info.

Anyway if that works for you that's fine.

You didn't say what version of audacity you have nor which is your operating system. In Audacity 1.3.12, go to Edit menu -> Preferences -> Interface -> Language If you have ...

Re: audacity effects

there's no harm using the Windows version in Wine if that's what you prefer. True, though it beats me why would an app natively available on Linux work better when ran with wine... (my opinion might be somewhat biased though since I don't like wine very much and I never had much success running win...

Re: Recording from FM radio

I am new to Audacity. I use Ubuntu and would like to know how you can record from an FM radio onto a laptop that has Audacity installed. The station I want to record from has not yet made streaming available so I have to go from radio to computer. What is the easiest way to do this for a newbie? Th...

Re: Playback is at uneven rate

Sorry for the late reply. Tour problem is that you have sound activated recording. There's no speeding up. Like steve said, what happens is that with SAR the recording pauses when it goes below a certain threshold... High pitched notes have a faster drop in volume, so it stops sooner. Why do you hav...

Re: Digital Recorder Direct into Audacity?

You need to have ffmpeg installed for audacity to be able to import wma files.

Check the Mac section on this wiki topic: http://manual.audacityteam.org/index.ph ... tallffmpeg
