Shall I then change it to "soon-to-be-debianland"? Or whatever you might feel more appropriate...golinux wrote:Thanks for the explanation of why the 'location' option went bye-bye and for changing mine. Unfortunately, it's a little misleading as it hasn't happened yet!

Re: 1.3 Beta and Windows 7
Just to let you know, when you export files from Audacity 1.3.12-Beta (Unicode) to Windows 7 (...) As this version of Audacity is specifically mentionned as experimental (...) BTW, there's a bit of a difference between "beta" and "experimental". Audacity 1.3.12 is not really tha...

Re: 'Cursor' display issue
That a known bug (and an old one). Audacity 1.3.5 is an old version. I'm not sure if that bug has been corrected in the current 1.3.12 version, but nonetheless you should try to upgrade to 1.3.12 (and 1.3.13 will probably be out very soon). Steve was the one reporting that issue on that other thread...

Which audacity version are you using? On which linux distro?
Is the problem you're experiencing something like what is reported on this topic: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic ... 18&t=11906

Re: Sound card recommendation
Like Steve said, it depends a lot on the needs... What will he be recording? From what equipment? How will he connect it to the sound card? Does he need a line input only? Mic input too? Does he already have any equipment that he will using, such as a mixer/mixing desk/mic preamp/etc... Will he need...

Re: Converting long multi-track file into many single-track
Regarding the file splitting I can say that I've been successfully using mp3splt on linux: http://mp3splt.sourceforge.net/mp3splt_page/home.php It's available for mac too through fink and macports (and there's also a windows installer on the download page). I've only tested it in linux though (and t...

Re: mic recording audio too low
So I connected the line out of my mixer to the mic in port of computer and there I got a strong recording signal albeit w/ some background hiss. I have to get my voice recorded for my upcoming radio show, will this connection be alright Steve? The signal coming from the mixer should be a line level...
