For importing and exporting some audio file formats such as mp3 you need to have ffmpeg and/or lame installed. You can get both from here: http://audacityteam.org/download/beta_windows

You can import mp3's into audacity apply the amplify effect and set the peak to the same value on all files and then export as mp3 again. To import/export mp3 files in audacity you need to have Lame installed. Also you need to be aware of 2 things: 1) mp3 is a lossy format, so everytime you compress...

Which audacity version? You posted in the 1.2.x section of the forum, so if you're still using such an old version of audacity it could be due to the spaces in the filename... It could also be that you don't have writing permissions in that folder, but that appears to be your homedir so that shouldn...
