Re: Audacity 1.3 Beta

Audacity development has been mostly in feature freeze and mostly focused on fixing current bugs. So this latest version (1.3.13) is mostly about bug fixes. You can read the complete release notes here: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/index.php?title=Release_Notes_1.3.13 See if anything is of some inte...

Visual Studio 2010 Pro and Linux IDEs

Topic split from here: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=55264 @ Steve -- After installing Linux and using it for the first time last month (at your request) I agree that (after learning the ins-and-outs of package management) the first compile of both wxWidgets and Audacity wa...

Re: Final CD levels Too Low

Use the amplify effect as the last step and amplify to a peak value of 0dB or slightly below 0dB if you want to play on the safe side to avoid any possible clipping. Also sometimes peak value might not be the best way measure the "loudness" of the audio. In audio tracks with lots of dynami...

Re: MAudio 1010lt records only 7-50 seconds

Searching the forum I found that a similar problem has been reported here too. At the time the workaround that the user found was to use jackd instead of pulseaudio/alsa. Not sure if there was any change in the later versions of audacity regarding this... Are you sure you have Audacity 1.3.13-beta? ...

Do you, by any chance, have sound activated recording turned on? (Transport menu)

Re: MAudio 1010lt records only 7-50 seconds

Which audacity version?

Do you have enough disk free space? (specially on the temp folder?)

What happens after those 7-50 seconds? It just stops like if you had pressed the stop button?

Re: Can I apply an effect as I monitor

Audacity doesn't work in real-time. You can only apply effects to recorded shows. You can't do it on the fly.

There are other apps that allow you to do that...

If you don't mind using JACK server you can try JACK-Rack for LADSPA effects.

I think there's not much support for VST plugins on Linux.
