Re: Export Failure

Can you describe in detail the steps you did to export as mp3?

Do you have lame installed?

You don't want to be recording from the mic... What you want is stereo mix... How you achieve that depends on what operating system you have...

Re: Lenght of track

Which exact version? The latest beta is 1.3.13. mp3splt is a command line tool... They have a version with a graphical interface too called mp3splt-gtk. I've never used it on Windows though (I only use Linux and Mac), but on the download page looks like there's a windows version of the gtk version t...

Re: Lenght of track

Can't you scroll to the right to show the rest of the waveform? Which audacity version and windows version do you have? Does this only happen with this file? As an alternative... If you only need to split the file you might have other options here... MP3 is a lossy (compressed) format. It order to s...

Re: raw pcm speed is incorrect

I have 1.2.6 Audacity, and I am just dragging an MP4 from iTunes You probably should upgrade to the latest beta (1.3.13), specially if you're on Windows 7 or Vista. You can get it from here: http://audacityteam.org/download/beta_windows You also need the ffmpeg library to be able to import mp4 file...

Re: Wrote music CD but can't read it

It's also possible that the optics on your cd-rom drive are dying... Usually they're more sensitive with burned cds. If you can read it on normal cd players (those usually have better optics than cd-roms and are able to read cds that sometimes the computers can't), then it doesn't seem to be any pro...

Re: Fine control of selection tool not possible.

You need to uncheck "snap to" like Steve suggested. I've tried a complete removal of Audacity (on her machine) and reinstalled it with no change in symptoms. That won't reset audacity's preferences... Audacity preferences are saved in ~/.audacity-data/audacity.cfg Edit that file and remove...

Re: Wrote music CD but can't read it

I believe you're doing it right. Sometimes computer cd-rom's are a bit "too sensitive" and might not read some burned cds... Can you read normal (original) audio cds on it? For audio cds I usually avoid writing at the top burning speed. Try burning a cd at slower speed (4x or 8x). Which k3...
