Re: Envelope tool "points"
My preference for "Shift+Click" with the Envelope tool would be for linear fades. (better still, have "linear" fade as the default fade type and "exponential" (or whatever it currently is) as a modifier option). The current fade type is (graphically) "linear"...

Re: Envelope tool "points"
I'm with newbis on this one too... It would be nice to have a way of adding points to the envelope without changing the amplitude at the point where the point is inserted... Something like Shift-Clicking and it would just place the envelope point at the current amplitude.

Re: Data lost bug - workaround?
Yes, what you describe sounds like a bug... I could not reproduce this on Audacity 1.3.13 on Mac. Which exact audacity version are you using? Check in Help menu -> About How many tracks did you have in the project? mono or stereo tracks? How long is the project? If you change to "Safer" op...

Re: Ver 1.2.6 won't show input devices on mixer bar
To enable the devices toolbar in 1.3.13 go to View menu -> Toolbars -> Devices toolbar
Devices toolbar in 1.3.13 is better than it has ever been in any previous version.
You can also set the devices in Preferences -> Devices.

Re: Removing feedback when transferring from tape to compute
I've run out of ideas here... Lets wait for Steve, though he might not reply before tomorrow... Meanwhile you can use the notch filter effect from the effects menu... What Steve's command does it to apply 4 consecutive notch filters with the following parameters: 1st) F=387 Hz, Q=20 2nd) F=774 Hz, Q...

Re: Removing feedback when transferring from tape to compute
I'm on macos-x too and audacity 1.3.13. Nyquist prompt is working fine here... What do you get when you click nyquist prompt? You should get a window with a text box where you can enter nyquist commands... Type in the commands steve suggested and click OK.

Re: Data lost bug - workaround?
In the Preferences -> Import / Export which option have you selected for "When importing audio files"? If you use the "faster" option and you import a wav file into the project, the audio isn't copied into the project (at least until you change it), rather it's linked from the or...

Re: Recording errors and too quiet recording
Audacity 1.3.9 is a bit old, you should download the latest 1.3.13. It has lots of bug corrections and some new features too.
I don't know any Samson C0CU usb mic, you probably meant C01U or C03U. Both are single mono mics, not much point in setting the recording to stereo.
