Re: Ver 1.2.6 won't show input devices on mixer bar
One other question. I realize that Audacity is an audio editor, probably the best one out there. I need it to simply record voice over cuts, using a mic and a mixer. I may do one cut 6 or 7 times before I'm satisfied with it. After I select the cut I want and export it usually to MP3, how or what i...

Re: How to recover files that have been corrupted (help!)
First thing make a copy of the project files. Copy the .aup file and the _data folder to another place in your disk or make a .zip archieve of it, etc. So that you have an unchanged copy before trying anything else... Second, upgrade to 1.3.13-beta. Crash recovery tools on 1.3.13 had some improvemen...

That's weird too...EdS wrote:I was going to reset the preferences for Audacity as suggested however I don't have an audacity folder located under <your home dir>/Library/Application Support.
If you search for a file named audacity.cfg in finder, does it find anything?

Re: Turntable to computer
Are you talking about an USB cable?
Yes there has been quite a few cases of faulty usb cable reported here on the forum, more than one might think... It's not that uncommon to find a bad usb cable...

Re: Removing feedback when transferring from tape to compute
To reset the preferences quit Audacity and go to <your home dir>/Library/Application Support/audacity/
Open audacity.cfg with TextEdit and delete everything except the line "NewPrefsInitialized=1".
Save the file without changing the file extension and restart Audacity.

Re: Can I record and have it stop when there is silence?
I don't remember how it worked in 1.2 but in 1.3.13, the latest Beta, when you invoke the silince finder there is a "Minimum Duration of Silence" parameter that you can set (default is 1 second) - does that do what you need? WC I think feelthebeat was talking about Sound Activated Recordi...

No, but I think there's a feature request for that... shall your vote be added?feelthebeat wrote:How is it possible to define the length of the silence, because there might be short "blanks" in a conversation and then its starts again.

Could it be that it's opening somehow in the "background" or out of the "working space"?
