Re: What happened? Cant use 1.3.X Record feature?

The only thing changed was MSN Messenger which I downloaded. Even for that my sound setting is Logitech's Headset. Windows is known for doing some "enhancements" for voice chat programs, you might want to turn those enhancements in the control panel's advanced settings for the recording d...

Re: RE: Preference troubles. In Audacity set up tutorial

What is exactly your problem? and what has this to do with compiling audacity?

If you want to record from the mic in a usb webcam you probably want to choose the device with "USB" in its name in the recording devices.

Re: Why does Audacity Record Already Recorded Tracks?

the mixer is connected to my computer's mic jack. That's where it all goes wrong... and that's why it gets all distorted. Mic input is not suitable for line level signal. Re: removing vocals

Separating each instrument from an already mixed song is like uncooking a baked cake and obtaining the original ingredients... In some cases it is possible to remove the vocals from a track without affecting too much the rest... in other cases it isn't... and you'll never get a perfect result... Rea...

Re: Why does Audacity Record Already Recorded Tracks?

You don't want the stereo mix option... That's for recording whatever is playing in the computer, that's because it records "everything" playing. Also if you are listening to the recorded track through speakers it will obviously be captured by the mic too, you should use a pair of headphon...

Re: What happened? Cant use 1.3.X Record feature?

Audacity 1.2.x is quite old and no longer developed, it's also quite unstable on Vista. The recommended version for Vista is 1.3.13. You probably have the wrong device selected for recording. You can change it in the Preferences -> Devices -> Recording device (you can also activate the Devices toolb...

Re: Having Trouble Recording my DJ sets, Please help!!!

You probably have the built-in mic selected as the recording device in Preferences -> Devices -> Recording. You need to record from line-in. Most laptops don't have a line-in though and you can't connect a line level signal to a mic input. You probably need an external device such as this: http://ko...
