Re: Help!

I don't think an IE update by itself could mess that up, but sometimes updating something in windows can do other things "under the table" that one is not told about... I'm not a windows user, so I can't help any further on this... lets wait for one of the windows elves to pop up and share...

Re: Why no Audacity export format?

Re: Help!

You're probably looking for an option with the name "Stereo Mix". Not all sound cards have it available on recent windows... But since you were able to do it in the past it should still be available. So in the recording device select "Stereo Mix". If that doesn't work have a look...

Re: How to cut to soundtrack ..

Greyed export is not related to lame installation... Are you in pause mode? Click the Stop button... Is Export still greyed out?

Re: Recording audio from sound board

There's a lot of interpretations to what a "normal" XLR cable can be ;) Both XLR and stereo jack connectors (1/4" or 1/8") can be used for pretty much the same... both kinds of connectors have 3 pins which usually connect to 3 wires. On a stereo unbalanced connection, you'll have...

Re: DB Levels

I'm using a USB mic with windows xp. I have the mic level set fairly high. If I set it lower I get very little modulation. What do you mean by modulation? You should probably set the mic level lower, in order to avoid clipping (that's unrepairable damage). If the signal you then get is quieter than...

Re: Please Help- Trying to record cell phone messages

If you want to record it all in the same track you can hit pause instead of stop. About the quality issue, it depends on what kind of signal the phone is sending out... where do you connect the cable to on the phone? Is that something like a headphone/headset output? It might not be suitable for the...

Re: Blue screen of death on XP every time

Dear nano911, it's not really a bug until you can find a step by step way of reproducing it. Audacity is a free open source project made by a group of volunteers, on their free time, which don't get paid for it... Free software project rely a lot on the feedback and contribution from the community, ...
