Re: Audacity can't find ffmpeg and lame files
I just tried it and it appears that the installer's default location is "/~/Library/Application Support/audacity". That is not a typo. That sounds like a bug... There shouldn't be a leading slash in the path... If ~ was still expanded that wouldn't be a problem, but with the leading / the...

Re: Audacity can't find ffmpeg and lame files
Gale, I haven't "upgraded" ffmpeg libs yet... I'm still using 5.2, which is located in /usr/local/lib/
I think I haven't yet imported/exported anything in the Mac since I installed 1.3.13, but it still detects the ffmpeg libs successfully...
Shall I upgrade ffmpeg and lame?

Hmm looks like something "vanished"...
Maybe the user deleted his posts or himself? Do you remember what was his username?

Re: Need help getting Mic , etc. for voice recording
The Art preamp can be used as an external sound card for playback too... It has a headphones output and there's knob to select if the sound you hear on it is coming from the mics or from the computer (or both). I still think that if you're going to record speech only you should probably start with t...

Re: Can I batch convert a bunch of .aup files into MP3?
This doesn't apply to the already recorded lecture, but in the future I'd recommend you to change your work as follows: 1) start audacity 2) start recording 3) stop recording 4) export as FLAC (*) 5) close project/audacity without saving a project (*) or WAV or MP3, but I'd prefer FLAC at this point...

Re: When URL not located...
I didn't understand your question... What are you exactly trying to record and from where?kamyogi wrote:HI,
I am new to Audacity. Before downloading it, I have got a question.
Does it record audio when the URL is not located (as it is often the case with copy protected stuff)?
Thanks for the reply.

Re: "Error while opening sound device..."
Is the Preferences dialog still blank in 1.3.13?
In 1.3.13 you can also enable the Devices Toolbar and change the devices from the main window. To do this go to View menu -> Toolbars -> Devices toolbar

Re: Mixes in existing while recording new?
Yes sorry. I'm referring to the little icons beside the windows on the task bar. "Speakers" or output, are headphones during overdubs in this case, mic refers to the little microphone icon I assumed to be any line input device in this case (drum machine etc) Oh OK, but that wasn't what I ...

Re: Audacity can't find ffmpeg and lame files
Omg i downloaded your installer, tried to do everything, edited by hand your .cfg, and still i get "not found" without any error or clue about what is wrong. Moved everything everywhere, changed permissions... it just does not work. You should really edit the wiki at least, it would save ...
