Re: Audacity stops recording after few seconds
And may I ask why are we talking about windows 7 on a thread in the linux section of the forum? That's one of the reasons why you should start a new thread rather than reviving an old thread... Eventhough your problem might seem slightly similar it may not be related to the original poster problem a...

Re: Mixes in existing while recording new?
I think software playthrought should be disabled too...
I see a "Line in at front panel" there, that's where you're connecting the mixer right? Have you tried that?

Re: Audacity can't find ffmpeg and lame files
I'm sorry I might have jumped in precipitation here... Here's the relevant parts of the log: 17:47:18: Trying to load FFmpeg libraries... 17:47:18: Trying to load FFmpeg libraries from default path, '/usr/local/lib/audacity/libavformat.52.dylib'. 17:47:18: Checking for monolithic avformat from '/usr...

Re: Noise with very low sound music
All I said before is better explained in this wiki topic: http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/Tuto ... ound_Music
And because an image can be worth a thousand words, some screenshots/illustration on that page describe more accurately what I tried to explain in words...

Re: Noise with very low sound music
I can't notice any increased noise in the quieter recording... Of course if you amplify it or if you raise your speakers volume that you're amplifying the noise too and like Trebor said it may sound there's more noise in it, when actually there isn't... Do the silent track test Trebor suggested. How...

Re: Audacity can't find ffmpeg and lame files
Weird thing happened... So yesterday I deleted that ~ folder. Not at any time in the process I deleted the old 0.5.2 ffmpeg version. Today I started audacity and it failed to locate ffmpeg... I went to audacity download page and I downloaded ffmpeg 0.6.2 for mac again. I compared the md5sum with yes...

Re: Mixes in existing while recording new?
Ok, I closed and ran Audacity and enabling overdub allows me to hear while it records and I hear the intended input (I can play along in record mode) but there is no recording of the signal now. It shows a flat line for a recorded track. I'm getting worried that it's some combination of all those s...

Re: Mixes in existing while recording new?
Do you have overdub turned on in audacity?M_Glenn_M wrote:Now I can't hear the existing tracks during record.picturehead wrote:Disable stereomix
(I can hear them during playback tho).
Maybe you need to adjust the playback device.
Stereo mix should be disabled.

Re: When URL not located...
Is it still possible to record them with Audacity? Maybe. For doing what you want with Audacity is irrelevant if you can see the url or not. You need to configure Audacity to record what's playing on the computer. Audacity then will record any sound playing on the computer regardless of where it co...

Re: Audacity can't find ffmpeg and lame files
I downloaded the installer from audacity's download page and run it accepting all the defaults... Now I have a folder named '~' in my root... Sounds like a bug to me
and one that should be fixed quickly...
