Re: Lantecy Correction HELP!
Does your laptop has a socket to connect an external mic? It might happen that you're selecting the mic input and not the built-in mic... Go to the preferences -> devices and under recording device see if you have another option that says "built-in mic" or similar.

Re: Syncing mistimed audio in audacity
Two different recording devices can have slightly different sampling rates... Sample rate depends on some internal clock of the device. The same way that two synched watches will drift way after some time, the same happens here... If the sampling rate in one device is 44100, on the other might be 44...

Does it come with any software to ajust the input level of the mixer? I'm not a windows user so I'm not the best person to give you advice regarding windows configurations...

Re: Are Apple effects free software?
If this is part of the initial MacOS-X package, then the same license agreement that you accepted when you first installed MacOS-X should apply. Read the OS-X license agreement and see if is there any clause that forbids you to use the audio effects for commercial purposes... I doubt it though.

Re: Lantecy Correction HELP!
That doesn't give us any relevant info... We need to know what kind of mic are you using? How do you connect it to the computer? Is it a laptop? Desktop computer? Built-in mic on laptop? External mic? Where do you connect it? Is it USB mic? Which windows version? Which Audacity version? What options...

Re: Solo fingerstyle guitar effects
I just talked to a friend who's considering buying a few things from Thomann too and together we should be able to spend enough money to qualify for free shipping! That means I'm very close to buy a T-Bone SC140 soon.
I will post some samples when I get it (might still take a few weeks).

Re: free reverb plugins
The other advantage of using Jack Rack is that you can combine effects (subject to your PC having enough horsepower) and tweak them while you listen. Though it's no longer a very recent computer (nearly 4 years old I believe) it's still a quadcore so, as long as jackrack is capable of make use of t...

Re: Selecting PC Hardware for Audio Recording?
Maybe I should elaborate about running DBAN from a Floppy. "Darik's Boot and Nuke ("DBAN") is a self-contained boot disk that securely wipes the hard disks of most computers. DBAN will automatically and completely delete the contents of any hard disk that it can detect, which makes it an appropriat...

Re: free reverb plugins
Thank you Steve for the feedback. I don't quite like the idea of going through jackrack and "real time" processing since that is really quite time consuming, but on the other hand gives the opportunity to try some effects "on the fly". I kind of like the default calf settings, though I wouldn't mind...

free reverb plugins
So what free reverb plugins exist out there worth trying? I have no particular interest in VST plugins, since they won't work on Linux, but some may be mentioned for others reading this thread. The ones that get most often talked about here on the forum are GVerb and Freeverb. I've briefly played ar...
